Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released CEN No. 04/2026 for recruitment to various posts of Junior Engineer (JE) and Depot Material Superintendent (DMS). A total of 3,993 vacancies are notified across all RRBs. The posts carry Pay Level 6 with an initial pay of ₹35,400. The age limit is 18 to 33 years as on 01-01-2027, subject to applicable age relaxation. For RRB Guwahati, 329 vacancies are notified. Eligible candidates can apply online from 14-08-2026 to 13-09-2026.

Eligibility
- Candidates must satisfy the prescribed educational and technical qualification for the post on or before 13-09-2026.
- Candidates must be between 18 and 33 years of age as on 01-01-2027, subject to applicable age relaxation.
- Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification from a recognized University, Institute or Board.
- Candidates awaiting final results of the prescribed qualification are not eligible to apply.
- Candidates must satisfy the prescribed medical standards for the post selected.
- Candidates must apply to only one RRB against this CEN.
- Multiple applications to different RRBs or the same RRB will lead to rejection of all applications.
- Candidates seeking reservation or relaxation benefits must possess the required certificates in the prescribed format.
Qualifications
- Junior Engineer – Electrical: Three years Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or an applicable combination of sub-streams from a recognized University/Institute.
- Junior Engineer – Civil: Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering or three-year B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, or applicable combination of Civil Engineering sub-streams.
- Junior Engineer – Mechanical: Three years Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Industrial, Machining, Instrumentation and Control, Tools and Machining, Tools and Die Making or Production Engineering, as applicable to the notified post.
- Junior Engineer – S&T: Three years Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Information Technology, Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering, as applicable.
- Depot Material Superintendent: Three Years Diploma in Engineering in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution.
- Higher qualifications such as B.E./B.Tech are acceptable in lieu of the three-year Diploma in Engineering in the same discipline.

- 3Candidates who already created an account for previous RRB CENs should use the same account credentials.
- 4Complete identity authentication using Aadhaar or DigiLocker, wherever applicable.
- 5Select CEN No. 04/2026.
- 6Choose only one RRB.
- 7Select the eligible posts and provide the required order of zone/post preference.
- 8Fill in personal, educational and other required details carefully.
- 9Capture the live photograph as instructed in the application portal.
- 10Upload the required signature and documents.
- 11Pay the applicable examination fee online through internet banking, debit/credit card or UPI.
- 12Submit the application.
- 13Save/print the final submitted application and payment confirmation for future reference.
