POWERGRID Field Engineer Recruitment 2026 – 40 Vacancies

POWERGRID has invited applications for 40 Field Engineer vacancies on a contractual basis for its Comprehensive Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Scheme in Arunachal Pradesh under the North Eastern Region. The recruitment is for Field Engineer (Electrical) and Field Engineer (Civil). The engagement is initially for 24 months or until completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

Pay scale₹30,000–₹1,20,000 (3% annual increment) with initial basic pay of ₹30,000 + Industrial DA + HRA + Perks @ 35% of basic pay.
Age limitMaximum 29 years as on 05-Sep-2026. Candidates should not have been born before 05-Sep-1997. Age relaxation is applicable to eligible reserved categories as per Government of India rules.
Application fee₹400 for Field Engineer (Electrical/Civil). SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals and at least 18 years old.
  • Candidates must meet the prescribed educational qualification for the respective post.
  • Candidates must possess one year of relevant post-qualification field experience.
  • Candidates must satisfy the upper age limit of 29 years as on 05-Sep-2026, subject to applicable relaxations.
  • Candidates must meet POWERGRID's prescribed medical fitness standards.
  • Training, teaching, internship and apprenticeship periods will not be counted as experience.

Qualifications

  • Field Engineer (Electrical):
  • Full-time B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) in Electrical discipline or equivalent with minimum 55% marks.
  • Acceptable disciplines include Electrical, Electrical (Power), Electrical and Electronics, Power Systems Engineering and Power Engineering (Electrical).
  • Field Engineer (Civil):
  • Full-time B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) in Civil discipline or equivalent with minimum 55% marks.
  • Civil Engineering is the prescribed discipline.
